Can I book in advance?

Pre-booking is recommended for island parking. Please book online so that you are assured of a parking space for your car. How often does the shuttle bus leave from the long-term car parks?

The timetable for our free shuttle bus is tailored to the sailing schedule of Rederij Doeksen. We will make sure you are dropped off at the Waddenpromenade on time. Here you can board the ferry of Rederij Doeksen. The shuttle bus uses HVO100 fuel. This diesel variant is composed of vegetable oils, waste, residual oils, and fats. This reduces the greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e) of the fuel by up to 90% compared to regular fossil diesel.

Are there parking spaces for the disabled?

Yes, there are two disabled parking spaces at P1.

What are the opening times of the parking locations?

The long-term parking P1/P2/P3, the Waddenpromenade multi-storey car park and the Bruine Vloot parking on Westerzeedijk are open daily from 7:00 am to 8:30 pm. Entry and exit is only possible between these times. On Fridays, the parking lot for the 'Bruine Vloot' is open until 10:00 PM (April to September). If there are changes in the sailing schedule of Rederij Doeksen, we will adjust the opening hours of the parking facilities P1/P2/P3 accordingly.

What is the best way to get to the parking locations in Harlingen?

If you are travelling to Harlingen for a visit to Terschelling or Vlieland, you will be directed to our parking facilities by road signs. A shuttle bus runs from these facilities, taking you to the Waddenpromenade where the ferries of Rederij Doeksen depart. Please leave well in advance; we advise you to arrive in Harlingen at least one hour before departure for the islands.
